The Narn G'Quan class Heavy Cruiser was the back bone of the Narn's Military, up until the time of the Narn Regime’s downfall at the hands of the Centauri Republic. This vessel is approximatly 820 meters in length [+ / - 20 m], has three large Ion drive engines and carries up to 14 Frazi star-fighters. Speeds and tactical capabilities are superior to an Earth Alliance Rosevelt Class Heavy Cruiser, but inferior to EAS Nova and Omega Class Destroyers.

This class of vessel is armed with two Particle Laser cannons with a power output of equlivant to those of an Omega Class Destroyer, energy mines, solid-fuel rockets, and plasma weapons. It has also been rumored that Narn warships, despite their size, could fly in atmosphere. Due to the lack of artificial gravity technology in Narn culture however, Earth Dome doubt this to be true.

To any race who had never encountered the Narns, or had knowledge of their technology, at first glance this vessel would appear to be from a highly advanced race. A race who was a advanced as perhaps the Centauri, or Minbari. This of course was the intention of the colorful markings and sleek design of the ships wings; to fool other races into thinking the Narn were more technologically advanced than they actually were. If one looks closely however, underneath the bright colors and sleek looking design (created by the folded armor along the port and starboard wings), the Narn Heavy Cruisers is just as bulky, cumbersome, and duty oriented as any Earth ship of this class. Every centimeter of the Narn ship is build for function.

Narn technology is quite inferior to any of the aforementioned races, and is at least now several steps behind the current technology of the Earth Alliance. The technology gap between Earth and the Narn grows greater with every year. During the Earth/Minbari war, the Narn Regime and the Earth Alliance were about technologically equal. Now Earth Alliance technology is quickly reaching a level comparable to both the Centauri and Minbari (both the Centauri and Minbari have been space fairing for the past 1,000/2,000 years), while Narn science has remained static. This is do, in part, to the fact that the Narn borrowed almost all their technology from the Centauri and the Alliance's dealings with the Shadows.

Some 50/80 earth years ago, the Centauri had a massive military occupational force on Narn. Most of what the Narn know of space travel, they either learned directly from the Centauri occupational forces, or discovered via "reverse engineering" what little technology the Centauri left behind after they abandoned Narn. To date, the Narn haven’t even perfected rotating sections on their ships to produce artificial gravity. Despite the technology gap between the Narns and the other great powers, the Narn Military proved that by perfecting and honing their existing technology, they could stand up against races even as powerful as the Centauri. Had the Shadows not interfered in the Narn/Centauri war, the Narn very well could have held off the Centauri for years. (Note: this conclusion is based on the fact that, during the Earth/Minbari war, Earth forces fought the Minbari for 3 years before the Minbari successfully penetrated Earth's defenses and reached earth.) Now that they are free of the Centauri again, the Narn Regime is once again begining a large scale military build up, in order to strike back at the Centauri. It is doubtful however that the Narn would be able to beat the Centauri, even though the Centauri no longer have the Shadows to assist them.
